Three Imaginary Girls: New Wave Karaoke

When most people turn ten, their parents throw them a slumber party.  When local music blog Three Imaginary Girls celebrated its 10th birthday just over a week ago, the crew invaded Chop Suey and invited everyone in town to show off their best moves on the New Wave karaoke stage. Local musicians joined in on a party that Cyndi Lauper would've been proud of.

Christina Bautista (below) performed the Psychadelic Furs' "Love my Way"

Visqueen's Ben Hooker made his own rendition of Duran Duran's "Girls on Film", which became "3 Imaginary Girls On-Line".

Local music photographer Greg Roth did a spot-on Sting impression for the Police's "Message in a Bottle".

Homemade cookies and cupcakes in honor of TIG's 10 years were offered halfway through the night and quickly devoured by fans.

'80s fashion and sing-alongs were welcomed all night.

Leslie Wood of the Redwood Plan (below) absolutely rocked Kim Wilde's "Kids in America", then teamed up with her husband Steve to knock out a duet of Human League's "Don't You Want Me Baby".

Cody Hurd of the Young Evils nailed "I Ran So Far" by Flock of Seagulls

Sean Nelson roamed the stage while belting the lyrics to Elvis Costello's "Peace, Love, and Understanding"

Patrick of Your Favorite Book got the crowd involved for his performance of "99 Red Balloons", which he sang entirely in German
