Rent

Inspired by Puccini’s opera La Bohème, Rent is a rock musical revelation about a group of young artists struggling with poverty, love and HIV/AIDS in New York’s Lower East Side. In 1996 it won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama as well as three Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score. A 12-year run, several national tours and a 2005 film adaptation (with many of the original cast members) later, it’s here at the 5th Avenue Theatre. Vive la vie bohème!
