Terry Malts
Date:
Tuesday, June 19, 2012
Venue:
Barboza Fuzzy, sassy and undeniably catchy, Terry Malts songs are classic bubblegum pop wrapped in punk trappings. Reminiscent of the Ramones and the Buzzcocks, the San Francisco crew isn't doing anything new, but they are doing something fun. Case in point: “Mall Dreams,” from the band’s latest Killing Time, is an anti-consumerist treatise with a modern flair: “Who are you when all you do is consume?” sings Corey Cunningham as he grinds away on guitar. “A zombie’s still a zombie in J. Crew.”
