Regina Spektor
Date:
Thursday, August 9, 2012
Venue:
Paramount Theatre Regina Spektor has been with us for more than ten years now, since the release of the Russian-American songwriter’s 11:11 introduced a not-incredibly interested world to her quirky personality and vocal acrobatics in 2001. It would be a few more years before the world caught up and embraced the stuttering pop single “Fidelity.” Since then Spektor has hummed, strummed, plinked and beat-boxed her way into regular rotation, most recently with What We Saw from the Cheap Seats, which features plenty of mouth trumpet, alongside unadorned songwriting gems like “Jessica.”
