Delta Rae
Date:
Tuesday, July 3, 2012
Venue:
Barboza Eager Seattleites should lap up Delta Rae's music: It's the sort of holy-rolling, highly harmonized, stomp-and-shout Americana that could just as easily have come from Ballard as Durham, N.C., the sextet's actual birthplace. Along with Adele-esque vocals, massive drums, and radio-ready pop polish, currently buzzing track "Bottom of the River" renders southern Gothic atmosphere with the sounds of chirping crickets and rattling chains. Delta Rae recently released swooning ballad "Chain on Love" in support of marriage equality—a bold move where they come from, that will be welcome with open arms here.
