Labyrinth

Labyrinth achieved only modest success when it first hit theaters in 1986. The story of a girl (Jennifer Connelly) attempting to rescue a toddler from the clutches of the elegantly-evil Goblin King (David Bowie) was deemed too dark for kids yet too fanciful for adults. Today, the movie’s deliciously immersive Jim Henson-created world continues to delight, and David Bowie somehow manages to look unerringly cool—even when clad in an absurd fright wig and body-hugging tights.
