Seattle Festival of Improvisational Dance

After 18 years, Seattle Dance group is handing over the annual summer festival and workshop intensive to Velocity Dance Center. A festival focused solely on improvisational dance, it offers classes, workshops and lectures for those in the dance community and performances for those who want to support it. Scheduled performers include local Butoh dancer and choreographer Douglas Ridings, Seattle contemporary dance veterans Amelia Reeber, Tonya Lockyer and Dana Hanson. Keep in mind that SFDI is one the largest improvisational dance festivals in the world.
