Marie Watt

In Northwest artist Marie Watt’s first solo exhibition, “Cradle,” blankets are turned into sculptures that vary between towering, touching, overwhelming and comforting. Watt draws on her heritage as a woman, a Native American and an artist to illustrate the idea of “Six Degrees and Seven Generations,” a reference to two theories of connecting people. Evoking images of shelter, warmth and connection, Watt’s very personal work creates a unique and approachable narrative.
