August Weekends Bring Music to the Mural

With the Space Needle providing the backdrop for some of Seattle's best local music, crowds have gathered every Friday this August for KEXP's Mural Concert Series.  Bands featured this summer have included Sallie Ford, Brad, Fly Moon Royalty, and the Young Evils to name a Few.  Last weekend, Wayfinders and Absolute Monarchs opened for Love Battery.  Next Friday is the final show of the 2012 series and the show will feature BOAT, Reptar, and Fresh Espresso.

KEXP DJ and member of the Young Evils, Troy Nelson introduces the evening's bands.

Wayfinders sweated out the jams in the late afternoon sunshine.

The beauty of Mural concerts is that they're free and open to the public - which means anyone can join in on the fun.

Some kids just aren't in to bands like Absolute Mondachs (yet), but that's ok - Mural concerts are family friendly.

Absolute Monarchs got the crowd moving - off the grass and up to the stage.
