Andrew Sleighter at Naked City Brewery

Andrew Sleighter is one of the funniest young jokewriters in the current crop of recent Seattle emigrants to Los Angeles. His jokes have an effortless arithmetic that is the hallmark of a great technician. Beneath the plain-spoken delivery and seemingly innocuous subject matter there are virtual quadratic equations of comedy working themselves out from premise to punchline. It is a craft that, when done right, is more subversive and undeniable than a thousand shock comics pushing hot buttons for cheap laughs.  

He has written for Comedy Central's short-lived Sports Show With Norm Macdonald and recently appeared on fellow Seattle alum Jeff Dye's MTV show Money From Strangers.
